RedMax Technologies Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Datacenter Technician to join our growing team in this on-site role based at our data center facility. You will be responsible for the physical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and infrastructure within our data center, working closely with the broader IT and network teams to ensure the environment runs safely, securely, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rack and stack physical servers, run diagnostics on faulty hardware, and replace components such as hard drives, RAM, and power supplies
• Decommission obsolete or end-of-life equipment following proper procedures
• Perform copper and fiber optic cabling, termination, lacing, and labeling in line with strict telecommunication standards
• Monitor the facility floor for temperature, humidity, airflow, and power loads to maintain optimal environmental conditions
• Conduct physical security audits and escort authorized vendors and visitors within the facility
• Fulfill and close out internal support tickets in a timely and accurate manner
• Update inventory counts and maintain accurate logs of hardware swaps, configuration changes, and daily tasks
• Collaborate with network and IT support teams to ensure seamless service delivery
• Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills; participate in internal and external training activities as required
• Participate in the standby/on-call roster as required by the nature of the work
• Perform physical tasks associated with the role, including lifting and moving equipment, and standing, bending, or kneeling for extended periods while working within server racks

What we're looking for:

• College or Technical School diploma in Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field (University degree is a plus, but not required)
• Foundational understanding of computer hardware components (servers, storage, RAM, power supplies) gained through coursework, labs, or personal projects
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts and cabling standards (copper/fiber) is an advantage
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures and documentation standards
• Comfortable with the physical demands of the role, including working within server racks and on the data center floor
• Good communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and visiting vendors
• A proactive and reliable team player with a genuine interest in building a technical career
• Any hands-on experience (internships, personal projects, PC building, IT support work) is a plus
• Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Server+) are a plus
